Borodin Quartet honoured with International Shostakovich Award

The Borodin Quartet is thrilled to receive the International Shostakovich Award on Saturday 20th June 2015 in Gohrisch (near Dresden), Germany.

The prestigious Prize will be bestowed to the members of the Quartet in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the work of Dmitri Shostakovich, a composer who has always played a huge role in the ensemble’s existence – he and his music have influenced all of the Borodin Quartet’s members (former and current) immensely.

Borodin Quartet receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Every year the Istanbul Music Festival provides recognition to composers, judicious researchers, leading conductors, innovatory and creative artists and figures who made significant contributions to the world’s cultural heritage and whose projects reveal the unifying power of music.
