The Borodin Quartet’s 2017/18 Season

We are pleased to announce the details of the Borodin Quartet’s 2017/18 season as the fantastic 2016/17 season comes to an end.

The 16/17 season was a great success for the Borodin Quartet, with highlights including a tour of China, appearances at Festival Casals, Bogota International Musica Festival, International Music Festival La Palma, Great Mountains Music Festival South Korea, Kaposfest and Oslo Chamber Music Festival, and concerts in Istanbul, Lyon, Bilbao, Essen, Pamplona, Bruges, Miami, Rotterdam, Zwolle, Amsterdam, Norwich, Budapest, Madrid, St Petersburg and of course Moscow. The 16/17 season also saw the Borodin Quartet conclude their Beethoven and Shostakovich cycle at Wigmore Hall in London and began a collaboration with Vladimir Jurowski on the Martinu and Schulhoff Concertos for string quartet and orchestra. They performed these works with the Staatskapelle Dresden Orchestra and will return to perform them with other orchestras under the baton of Maestro Jurowski in Moscow and London.

The quartet’s 17/18 season has now kicked off in style with a tour of the USA and Canada, with concerts in Albuquerque, Vancouver, Boise, Montreal and New York. Future highlights of this season include tours of Sweden and Denmark, Italy and the Netherlands, appearances at Music and Beyond Festival Ottawa, Toronto Summer Music, Orford Music Festival and Pour L’Art Festival in Pully, Bodensee Festival, Salzkammergut Festwochen Gmunden, and concerts at Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Wigmore Hall London, Turner Simms Southampton, National Concert Hall Dublin, Aix-en-Provence, Philharmonie Paris, Palau de la Musica de Valencia and in Moscow. The quartet’s chamber music partners in 17/18 will include Barry Douglas, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Dmitry Masleev, Alexei Volodin, and mezzo soprano Karine Deshayes.
